Mendocino County Health and Human Services Agency to retain control of Ukiah Animal Shelter
On Feb. 17, the Mendocino County Board of Supervisors squashed several months of speculation that the Mendocino County Sheriff's Office could regain control of animal care services, by unanimously voting in favor of the Health and Human Services Agency retaining management of the Ukiah shelter.

Burglary at the Company Store

The Mendocino Cookie Company was broken into on Monday, just after 9 p.m. According to a Fort Bragg Police Department press release on the matter, a report of a broken window was received and officers were dispatched to the Company Store. Upon arrival, officers determined that someone had broken into and entered the baking area for the Cookie Company, located at the rear of the building. The second location belonged to the Mendocino Center for Spiritual Living. The second location was also found to have numerous items broken and/or missing.

Old Coast Hotel project approved

The city and a group called Concerned Citizens of Fort Bragg went to court over the matter last month. A hearing was set for after the decision was to be made. Currently, a hearing has been set for May 15 at which the court will consider the city's response and the CCFB's petition for a preliminary injunction. City Manager Linda Ruffing said Tuesday a third revision of the notice was received on Monday. "To do so would be counter to the duties I am sworn to preform," he said. "We've been sued, we've been threatened with recall," said Turner.

Forest Service to hold vehicle Internet sale

Redwood Community Chorus to perform May 8-9 in Mendocino

The Redwood Community Chorus will perform in concert Friday, May 8, at 7 p.m., and Saturday, May 9, at 2 p.m. at the Mendocino Presbyterian Church, 44831 Main St., Mendocino. The chorus will sing two requiems, Lux Aeterna, and the fourth movement of Brahms' German Requiem, and familiar ballads. The A Cappella group Trebl'd Women will open the concert with an Italian madrigal.
