Duck race happens despite gray skies
Fort Bragg Advocate-News Staff Writer Ducks of varying size and decor swam their little rubber feet off on Mother's Day to navigate the almost tenth-mile course on Wages Creek, complete with rocks, currents, lulls and even a whirlpool near the finish line.

Young Fort Bragg woman sentenced to 4 years in hatchet attack

A 22-year-old Fort Bragg woman convicted of attacking two people with an ax in a gang-related fight outside a coast recreation center last year was sentenced Friday to four years in state prison, according to the Mendocino County District Attorney's Office.

Fort Bragg, Calif., bans plastic bags

Fort Bragg, a city of 7,300 along the coast of California halfway between San Francisco and Redwoods National Park, has become the second city in Mendocino County to ban single-use plastic bags and charge 10 cents for paper bags.
