Charlie White celebrated as artist, fisherman, woodsman, and friend

Saturday afternoon, the mooring basin on the south side of Noyo Harbor filled with people, there to celebrate the life and work of Charlie White. Charlie White passed away in spring 2014. Spent his life and work and raised his family in Fort Bragg. "He was first cabin all the way, everything he did" said Gene Mattiuzzo, who bought salmon for Caito Fisheries from White for years. As soon as the playoff game that was on TV at the time was over, Sacks said, White was there with his climbing gear, and the swing went up that day.

Food trucks in Fort Bragg?

The idea first surfaced in January, on a CDC agenda. Committee members Scott Deitz and Michael Cimolino, also currently serving on the City Council, heard a report regarding mobile vending from Associate Planner Sean O'Rourke. O'Rourke noted at the meeting that the city's current mobile vending policy is restrictive, which is most likely the reason Fort Bragg rarely hosts mobile vendors. Staff is suggesting that regulations be put in place in this regard. The CDC meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, May 26, at 3 p.m. at Town Hall.
