Legalize Drugs

The incarceration of people for drug offenses is a huge drain on our society. These are all in the category of "non-victim crimes" where nobody is hurt. Implementation of these laws is used solely to impose one group's social norms on another.

The repeal of these laws would take pressure off our seriously overcrowded penal system. One revealing statistic is that 1/4 of all people in jail are in U.S. jails.

A second benefit of changing these laws would be an improvement in our relationships with various foreign countries and an improvement in the well being of the citizens of these countries, which are currently overrun by the drug trade.
